Welcome to our beautiful 14th century historical guest house in Sudbury, Lavenham and Bury St Edmunds. We are Terry and Lynette and we strive to provide a home away from home, where you and your family can enjoy the scenic surroundings of Suffolk.
Whether you are attending a local wedding, on a business trip or exploring the local countryside, you'll fall in love with our cosy guest house. We have cosy rooms, historical architecture and a real homely atmosphere. We aim to give every guest the warmest of welcomes, with, Tea ,Coffee or home made wine on arrival.

Our Evening Meals
What makes our bed and breakfast in Suffolk, that little bit extra special is the traditional, home cooked food that we serve from breakfast through to dinner. Lynette is a multi-talented cook and loves nothing more than cooking up delicious traditional fare like stuffed chicken breast, cottage pie, beef stew and dumpling , crumbles, pies and shortbread. You can even accompany your meal with some of Terry's complimentary home made wine.
Amenities
- We are pet friendly! We know how precious your pets are to you, and they are welcome to stay with you in your room (we have a small fee of £7 per visit).
- We have a number of bicycles, which are completely free to use if you wish to sightsee the countryside on a cycle.
- We have ample parking which is safe and secure. We have enough for 1 car/van per room booking.
- We have free wi-fi, many books and a number of games suitable for both children and adults if you would like something to pass the time.

Our Location
The Bridge Street Historic Guest House is situated between the idyllic towns of Sudbury and Bury St Edmunds on the A134, CO10 9BG. The National Trust's Ickworth House, Park and Gardens and the city of Bury St Edmunds is a short drive away. There are also acres of beautiful countryside to explore, perfect if you are a hiker, walker or cyclist. South Suffolk is a very popular location for weddings and we regularly provide accommodation for visiting wedding attendees.
“This was our first time staying here and can honestly say we loved it.
The owners Terry and Lynette made us feel so welcome and couldn't do enough for us. We felt like we were visiting family, we spent the Saturday night with Terry and Lynette having a good natter and drink with lots of laughter, that's how comfortable you feel.
Breakfast was lovely with plenty of choice and our room was beautiful and very accessible decorated beautifully.
The house is wonderfully old and preserved with lots of history attached and original features, we were captivated right away and wanted to discover more and more.
